Carlos Parra Becomes the First Student Benefited Under the New Rice University - ESPOL Partnership F

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between Rice University in Houston and ESPOL in Guayaquil the first week of April. The MoU creates a framework for various activities, including the academic exchange of students, administrative staff, joint research activities, participation in academic meetings as well as the exchange of publications and academic materials.

The two universities in order to demonstrate their commitment, announced that Carlos Parra, who holds a Masters of Science in Materials Science and Engineering from ESPOL, will become the first student benefiting under the New Rice University - ESPOL partnership.

His mentor, Andres Rigail, who worked diligently as project leader of the HGSCA Guayaquil team that facilitated the signing of the MoU was really pleased with the announcement.
