HGSCA Received the Education and Innovation Award for its Achievements at the Sister Cities International Convention 2018 in Aurora, Colorado

Paulina Davila, Director of Protocol and Public Relations, Yomaira Torres, Events Director, and Kenia Mosquera, Director of Communications were the ones who were chosen to receive the award on behalf of the organization at the Sister Cities International Conference 2018 in Colorado. 

 

 "..We are all proud of our countries, however, we must not forget that we are also citizens of the world. We, the people, can make a difference.." Kenia Mosquera said towards the end of her emotional speech. The audience reacted with applause. She also emphasized the importance of citizen diplomacy to bring peace and progress to all.

Sister Cities of Houston recognized the organization by praising HGSCA in all its social media accounts with comments such as "We are beyond proud of our Guayaquil Sister City Association for winning their award at the Sister Cities International Conference 2018! Together, we are bringing communities closer in the name of peace and citizen-diplomacy." 

 

 Sister Cities of Houston, Houston Guayaquil Sister City Association learned a lot at the Sister Cities International Conference.

 

Next year, Houston will host the 2019 Sister Cities International Conference and 

HGSCA Team feels challenged to take the organization to the next level to make Houston proud. Luis W. Moyano, President of HGSCA, expressed, " This is just the beginning! HGSCA has developed a plan to continue serving our communities. I could not ask for a better team to achieve that. We all contribute our fair share without pride or ego...next year, we hope we can win again. It isn't the award what motivates us, but the idea to convince more people of the power of Sister Cities programs to bring success to their cities and Houston. We all win!"
