In August last year, Casa Ronald McDonald from Guayaquil, Ecuador met with Soledad Tanner, Vice-president of HGSCA, and Jenny Vera, Director of Public Relations of HGSCA in Guayaquil to explore the possibility of obtainingsupport from the organization to help more families with children affected by Cancer.
After several meetings, HGSCA decided to adopt "Casa Ronald McDonald" in Guayaquil and has scheduled the launching of a online and offsite fundraising campaign to start in late March.
Casa Ronald McDonald and HGSCA understand that helping a sick child fight their illness takes a huge emotional toll on a family. Adding a financial strain can make it all almost too much to bear. Casa Ronald McDonald helps to address those problems, whether it be housing near a hospitalized child, the expense of staying together in another city, or even getting basic medical and dental care in a vulnerable community. The organization has shelteredapproximately 300 families and its main goal is to build other houses in Cuenca y Quito.
"HGSCA is very excited to be part of this new adventure to help the most vulnerable and in need, the children," said its President, Luis Moyano.
